Impatient de voir ces nouveaux costumes, avec beaucoup d'espoir qu'ils soient vraiment beaux, car ceux qu'ils ont actuellement (quoique les pires sont ceux du MK de Floride) ne sont pas terribles.

Il n'y a aucun dessin de ces nouveaux costumes ?

L'emplacement de MaliBoomer (2) est quand même stratégique puisqu'il peut donner accès au show building (situé en backstage) d'un "E"-Ticket Disney digne de ce nom!

En effet, on voit bien sur le plan ci-dessous le grand espace (en jaune; presque aussi grand que l'espace dédié à Indiana Jones Adventure) dont disposera Disney quand:
* les voies d'accès au parking (fermé pour transformation en Cars Land) et leur débouché sur Disneyland Drive (3) seront supprimés,
* la route backstage (1) sera "redressée".
De plus, cette nouvelle configuration ne changerait rien à l'accès backstage de la parade (4).



Mais il est prévu (ou a été prévu) de remplacer MaliBoomer par un simple "parachute drop" (image ci-dessous trouvée sur http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com), ce qui parait bizarre avec Jumping Jellyfish à deux pas de là!!



J'espère simplement que si ce concept devenait réalité, cela ne bloquerait pas l'accès à cette possible future zone de développement...

Ce qui est drôle quand on parcourt tout le tropic, c'est : est-ce qu'il restera encore quelque chose qui n'a pas changer ? ^^

Maliboomer:
The removal of the Maliboomer is getting a slow start as the scaffolds have now reached to the top of the structure. Deconstruction is a tricky endeavor as there is, of course, an operating roller coaster under its shadow. The crane being used to pick the ride apart can only be operated during day light, this only leaves roughly 4-5 hours available each day to do the work. Despite these constraints the tower is scheduled to be fully removed by November.

Walls are now up around one section of tile mural in Sunshine Plaza. The restrooms and lockers in this area are still open for guests.




PARADISE GARDEN DINING AREA
The P.T. Flea Market building is now in the Paradise Garden food court, next to Mullholland Madness. The entire area is being re-themed.




PARADISE PIER ICE CREAM CO.
Scaffolding and walls are down from Catch-a-Flave Ice Cream to reveal a new paint job and a new name for the ice cream stand. Looks good, considering the building itself is pretty dull.

The World's Largest Tile Mural:
Say goodbye to one of the original "attractions" that was dreamed up for the entrance of DCA. The removal of this large, Mall-worthy, tile display has begun to make way for a REAL first act to the park.

Red Car Trolley:
The Red Car Trolley and Hyperion facade refurbishment is coming along nicely. They will be laying brick and asphalt soon.


Paradise Pier Food Court:
Let's take a look at what is going on over at what will soon be a brand new place to grab a bite.

As DCA entertains guests in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot with ElecTRONica, the rest of the park continues to be a mess of construction, including the park's main entrance. Half of the west mural has now been removed and it's only a matter of time until the rest of it moves on to Yesterland.


It's a strange, but definitely exciting view!

Over at the future Paradise Garden dining area, the carnival basketball toss game, the S.S. rustworthy water play area, and the old seating areas have been completely removed and heavy work is taking place on the restaurant buildings as well.




All of the tacky clutter that used to be in front of the restaurant buildings is now totally gone!

GOOFY'S SKY SCHOOL
Mullholland Madness is now closed and the mad-mouse roller coaster will now be re-themed as Goofy's Sky School. Construction walls advertise the attraction's renovation.


PARADISE GARDEN DINING AREA
The giant Burger Invastion spaceship-themed hamburger is now history (good riddance!) and now work is underway to get the building ready to re-themed as a Victorian-style burger grill.




Work continues on changing the P.T. Flea Market structure from a store to an airy outdoor dining area.


The former Pizza Oom Mow Mow is losing its hip, contemporary surfer hut theme for a more elegant Victorian-style seaside restaurant.

SUNSHINE PLAZA
The west side of California Adventure's tile mural is completely gone. All that's currently left is a section of the steel framework.


The buildings that were once covered by the tile murals will soon become richly-themed shops on a 1920s Los Angeles street.


Across the way, the east mural and facades are still intact for now. The signage at the Greetings! from California is showing some bad wear and tear, but why bother refurbishing it when it's going to be removed soon anyway?


Further into Sunshine Plaza, the former sun icon continues to be dismantled.


MALIBOOMER
The Maliboomer is completely gone now, nicely freeing up the Paradise Pier skyline and drastically helping the view look cleaner and more appropriately themed.

While the TRONcore dazzles audiences at World of Color, construction continues throughout California Adventure and work is now underway removing Sunshine Plaza's eastern tile mural.


Nothing is left of the west mural.


Meanwhile, the remainder of the Sunshine Plaza sun icon made its final bow and all that's left of the golden sun (for now) are its metal supports nestled in the dense foliage.

Red Car Trolley:
New progress along the Red Car Trolley route - walls near the Hyperion Theatre have been removed. We are almost back to the point of being able to walk through Hollywood Pictures Backlot to get to Tower. Goofy's Sky School:
The transformation of this coaster is rolling along and the lackluster map walls are being stripped away.

Nearly all of the tacky facade is gone.


The queue is ready for a better look.

On the other side of Paradise Pier, that row of shops between what was the Maliboomer and the midway games continues to sit there in its 2001 glory, completely oblivious to the extreme makeover the rest of the park has been getting. WDI has had several proposals to retheme those shop facades to fit in with the new architecture found in the nearby midway games and the Midway Mania ride. But the funding for that project kept getting put on ice, and then reallocated to other merchandise makeover projects closer to Mulholland Madness and the Little Mermaid ride. The end result is that strip of stores will remain looking exactly the same through the grand reopening of DCA in 2012.

With the removal of the Maliboomer, it’s no secret that WDI is eyeing that corner of the pier for future attraction expansion later this decade. The Maliboomer pad, or the adjacent stores, would be the entry portal for a new attraction housed in a backstage show building, much like the Midway Mania facility uses a boardwalk station that leads to a big show building hidden behind the coaster [J'en parlais dans mon message du 18 sept. en page 3]. That entire corner of the pier has now been taken out of the menu of projects for DCA’s extreme makeover, and will remain as is for the time being until a future project comes along. At least those midway shops aren’t as ugly as the stucco snack bars that were replaced by Midway Mania.
Park fans may want to take in the sight of that gaudy purple marquee out on Harbor Blvd. soon. While it certainly doesn’t have the charm and mod cachet that the original versions of the Disneyland sign had back in the 20th century, it’s the last vestige of the original layout of the park when thousands of arriving cars streamed off the Santa Ana Freeway every morning and drove directly into the Disneyland parking lot off of Harbor Blvd. With the DCA expansion taking out the last of the surface parking back in ’09, that marquee no longer serves a purpose and only confuses tourists who think that still must be the park entrance.

Now that they’ve plopped a hulking electronic traffic sign out there surrounded by a sea of orange cones and tacky signs and staffed it with glum parking attendants in ugly safety vests waving off confused tourists, it certainly drains the intersection of any glamour or sense of place that it was once supposed to have. That marquee will be torn down after the holidays and replaced with non-descript landscaping, and the last gasp of Disneyland’s traditional automotive welcome on Harbor Blvd. will come to a whimpering end.

The new Paradise Garden eating area is in rapid transition. The awning to the main restaurant (formerly Pizza Oom Mow Mow) has been stripped down and gutted. The inside is receiving a reinforced foundation as well.

SUNSHINE PLAZA BUENA VISTA STREET:
Even more striking is the demolition of the Sunshine Plaza. Electronica's wall and stage were pushed out to the outer walk way, the Sunshine hubcap was dismantled, and the interior of the plaza is now fully enclosed by construction walls. Now the trees and foliage that obscured the show building for It's tough to be a bug have also been cleared away. Work can now begin in earnest on Buena Vista Street.

RED CAR TROLLEY:
More of the Red Car's route has been exposed. This area is just to the left of Tower and will also become the start of the new parade route.

The Tile Mural is 3/4 down and walls surround what was once the Sunshine plaza. The plan is still to transform one side of the street at a time so crowd flows can be better controlled.

D'après Al Lutz, les grandes mosaïques de l'entrée du parc (en cours de démontage) vont être conservées en backstage puis réutilisées dans le projet de rénovation du Disneyland Hotel. Les lettres géantes CALIFORNIA vont aussi être conservées mais on ne connait pas à l'heure actuelle leur future utilisation.

Bonne nouvelle. Elles n'étaient pas moches en soi, juste mal utilisées dans le cadre d'une entrée de parc.

Pour les mosaiques , j'avais lu qu'elles contenait du plombs et autres trucs pas bons pour la santé et qu'elles seraient du coup détruites et assainies ... si c'est faux , cela me convient parfaitement ...
