J'ai l'inverse. Thor s'accapare une grande partie des séances de la semaine, il y en a une quasiment toutes les heures, du "classique" au format 4DX, avec même régulièrement une séance VO a un horaire non improbable (chose assez rare pour être soulignée en province   ).

Si les gens ne retiennent que le fait que l'on voit le petit cul de Chris Hemsworth dans le film, c'est bien la preuve qu'il se plante complètement... Même en étant gay, j'avoue que ça me dépasse un peu mais bon.

Autrement, voici un article qui met exactement le doigt sur ce qui me chiffonne particulièrement dans ce film (avec spoiler bien sûr). Ce qui rend le film encore plus frustrant... Dommage:

Effectivement,  @Timon Timauvais a raison : j'ai faim. Mais je suis allé voir Thor : Love and Thunder hier soir, tard car mon cinéma ne propose des séances qu'à 19h40 et 22h, et le moins que je puisse dire c'est que je n'ai pas été du tout rassasié...

Attention, spoilers (et roman, sorry)

Déjà, en terme de scénario, je dois dire qu'il peut s'écrire sur un Post-it. Avec un tel méchant, je m'imaginais un véritable carnage chez les dieux. Là, pas une seule mort mémorable. Ca place le film bien en dessous de mes attentes. Je m'attendais à des scènes bien plus sanglantes.

Concernant la musique, rien ne m'a transcendé. La bande originale de Thor : Ragnarok m'avait bluffé, autant là la musique est digne d'un mauvais blockbuster français.

L'humour ne vole pas bien haut, mais bon disons que c'est inscrit dans le programme quoi. Un film sur Thor ne peut qu'avoir des blagues vaseuses et pas vraiment drôles, on ne va pas voir un Christopher Nolan quoi. Ca ne m'a pas exaspéré, ça ne m'a pas transcendé, c'est un Taika Waititi.

Concernant les personnages / acteurs, j'ai plein de choses à dire (et pas forcément du négatif).
Commençons par Thor. Campé une nouvelle par un Chris Hemsworth tous muscles dehors (attention Chris, ça commence à faire très mastoc et pas très naturel...), Thor impressionne mais je n'ai trouvé très en retrait dans son propre film, et ça c'est quand même embêtant. De plus, il a beaucoup perdu : Loki, son père, certains de ses compagnons Avengers (même si j'ai toujours trouvé le personnage peu inclus dans les Avengers, il est souvent en retrait), et ça ne se ressent pas dans le film. Après, Thor est un de mes personnages préférés Marvel, donc je ne suis peut-être pas très objectif. Concernant la fameuse scène de la bande annonce, on peut dire ce qu'on veut mais il ultra bien foutu, il a une espèce d'aura sexuelle. Par contre, le tatouage, au secours...
Les Gardiens de la Galaxie. LOL. On devrait plutôt dire les Figurants de la Galaxie non ? C'est ridicule, ils apparaissent quoi, dix minutes à tout casser ? Et c'est le cas de le dire parce que leur scène est à pleurer de rire tellement ça fait fake et surtout, ça alourdit le récit. J'ai un peu de mal à saisir ce qu'ils ont voulu faire, ça donne l'impression qu'ils ont tout de suite voulu séparer Thor des Gardiens malgré la fin de Avengers : Endgame. On ne valide pas l'apparence de Star-Lord, il fait crado.
Christian Bale livre une performance magistrale de Gorr, le Boucher des Dieux. Il est tout bonnement spectaculaire et surtout, méconnaissable. Cet homme peut tout faire ! Franchement, il mériterait presque une nomination aux Oscars (mais ça n'arrivera jamais, on parle de Disney et de Marvel). La bonne surprise de ce film, vraiment. Son personnage est touchant, on est partagé entre horreur et tristesse parce que d'une certaine manière, on comprend ce qu'il fait. Ca rend le film presque philosophique : les dieux entendent-ils ce qu'on leur demande ? Pourquoi ne sont-ils toujours pas intervenus vu la situation actuelle ? Je trouve ces questions bien amenées car subtils, ce qui évidemment fait tâche dans un film qui justement manque de subtilité.
Natalie Portman. J'ai un faible pour cette actrice depuis toujours. Son retour dans le MCU m'a ravi au plus haut point. Cependant, elle livre une performance très inégale. En réalité, elle est impressionnante dans sa version Jane Foster malade, presque touchante. C'est bien joué, on n'est pas dans le larmoyant, elle se bat avec courage. Là où j'ai un problème, c'est en Mighty Thor. Elle surjoue, elle essaye tant bien que mal de s'accaparer les codes du super-héros bourrin, mais là où Chris Hemsworth réussit, elle n'y arrive pas car justement, c'est surjoué. C'est vraiment dommage. Je ne sais pas si c'est le réalisateur qui lui a donné cette direction de jeu ou si c'est elle, mais dans les deux cas c'est raté. La fin du film est prévisible à cent mille kilomètres, et j'étais d'ailleurs content du traitement qu'ils ont réservé à Jane dans la deuxième scène post-générique.
Russel Crowe est une parodie de lui-même, c'en est presque hilarant. Je ne l'ai absolument pas trouvé crédible dans le rôle de Zeus, et je pensais sincèrement qu'il aurait un rôle plus important, avec notamment un combat entre lui et Gorr. Il arrive même à être mauvais dans le peu de temps qu'on le voit, et ce même dans la première scène post-générique. Et dire que je le trouvais très bon dans Robin des Bois...
Sif fait office de figuration encore pire que les Gardiens. C'est vraiment dommage, j'aurais aimé qu'elle apparaisse plus, surtout après son absence dans Thor : Ragnarok.
J'ai toujours trouvé Korg insupportable, il l'est de nouveau dans ce film. La destruction de son corps ne m'a fait ni chaud ni froid.

J'ai du mal à voir comment Thor peut revenir. Il a l'air d'être officiellement en retraite vu la situation en fin de film avec Love. Pourtant, il est inscrit que Thor reviendra. Peut-être dans Les Gardiens de la Galaxie : Vol. 3 ? J'ai du mal à voir le personnage faire autre chose maintenant que de la figuration, surtout vu le nombre impressionnant de super-héros introduit dans les phases actuelles.

Bref, pour conclure, un film en demi-teinte, bien loin de la catastrophe qu'est Thor : Le monde des ténèbres mais loin derrière Thor et le meilleur de cette tétralogie, Thor : Ragnarok.

Mais comment ai-je pu oublier de parler des magnifiques chèvres. Allez, je vais réparer ça en leur consacrant un message entier, comme pour les mettre en valeur.
On ne voit ces deux gourgandines que trop peu, c'est dommage. Surtout qu'elles semblaient bien mises en valeur dans les différentes bandes annonces du film. On ne sait pas ce qu'elles sont devenues d'ailleurs. Mais après, on peut imaginer un film solo centré sur elles...

This was some early exploration for Gorr. I was playing around with a range of makeup ideas. I working closely with the source material at this stage while trying to capture Christian Bales likeness. This was done during the initial blue sky phase in the design process. So much fun!

Really count myself lucky to have worked on a @taikawaititi show, where I get to play in a wide sandbox and not worry about taking things too far.

Shout out to @andyparkart for leading the Vis Dev Team on this show. Since I painted this in early pre-production, the designs are not final. @janaschirmer designed the hilarious screaming goats in the film, and @silly_choochoo designed the actual boat.

It has been a whirlwind of projects at #marvelstudios Thankful to be able to contribute in any way to our many fun projects. However short or small my contributions were.

As a big fan of 80s Adventure cartoons, I had a lot of fun making a more physical version of the Necrosword from the comics.

Early in preproduction our team cast a wide net of possible designs going from very faithful to the comics to more takes that are less referential. It is all part of the design process. These early takes are done before an actor is cast. Many factors come into play throughout the film making process. I thought Gorr was fantastic in the movie.

A concept art for Thor : Love and Thunder. Under @andyparkart lead. On this one I was dealing with two interlaced ideas : referencing the comic-book look from the Walt Simonson run, with this huge scales on the torso and also referencing Cap, ( or “worthy Cap”) using those scales on the armor to create the link. The mighty @ryan_meinerding_art did a terrific job on Cap during all those years and in Endgame he succeed managing some big scales on the chest (like in the Ultimates comics) by making them appear like they were there before but hidden under the external fabric structure (if my notes aren’t clear >>> swipe to the last image of this post!!) And I used those scales and some patterns from Cap’s suit as an homage. Like Thor paying a tribute to Captain America. And for the whole look there was also this “over the top-metal vibe” too.

It seems cool to use this one to develop a new and refreshing look in the movies as well as keeping a link to what we’ve seen in the comic-books. And because also Steve Rogers is one of the few (with Jane?) humans to be worthy and being able to handle Mjolnir I’ve kept the structure of Cap armor on the torso (I’ve hidden the star because it would have been too obvious). And for the Helmet, I was referencing Odin’s one. Like the place of the father is now empty and now Thor is at a new step in his life…maybe a father one?

So this one is about the Gods butcher : Gorr! It’s a precast version. @christianbale_ hadn’t yet confirmed at this time but knowing an actor of this caliber could join we carefully did some versions in our concept when you could still see some real features of the face of the actor. On this one I was dealing with this idea and of course a mix with the look from the comic-books established by @ribicesad (if I’m right). I get rid of the short nostrils (too much Voldemor like) but was still playing with the long tentacles on the rear of the head. Really clear skin and graphic natural patterns that evolved in some kind of ritual marks in the movie. Some marks of faith in the gods that Gorr painfully removed…but you should see the movie for more! Oh and I had also to think about the necrosword. Here it’s a shy attempt to link it to Hela dark powers and visual vocabulary. I really like the final look in the movie and Bale’s performance! Do you know he and Taiks were referring to the « Comf to daddy » video by Chris Cunningham as a strong inspiration ?

Most of the tries we did making the nostrils close to the comics character ended too often with the same comment : “It’s Voldemort!”. And same thing for the really tiny panties from the comics : we’ve chosen to get rid of it as the result was weird or disturbing…Here I’ve kept an overall white value on the body and to avoid a simple naked guy I’ve added a torso armor like some Greek ones, mimicking the anatomy with muscles. Still with light values. Then the black parts were refering to the black shapes and pattern surrounding the character in the comics.
I’ve found Christian Bald performance really impressive! What do you think of it?

Adding a pale torso armor mimicking human anatomy was a good way to get rid of the naked style from the comics while keeping a likeness. (I’ve used some black patterns here on the pelvis to slightly refer to the gString from the comic-books : hard to keep this look and making it interesting in a live action movie in 2022). I was also playing with a huge and organic cloak that could morph into shadow and absorb things. In the comics Gorr, his necrosword and his powers are linked to Knull, the god of the symbiotes like Venom. So one of my topic was also to think about it (hope I’ll be able to share more in the future!)

I was mainly playing with her look from the previous movie (#thorragnarok) as a basis and mainly making her « brighter ». She seems to be previously dealing with a lot of inner issues and trauma and now as she’s the « king » of new Asgard it appears that she had reach a new step of balance and well being. As Thor’s or Odin’s cloaks are red, I’ve focused on blue like it could be the color of the Valkyrie caste.

Enfin vu hier, je craignais un peu cette séance au vu des critiques mais que nenni, j'ai beaucoup aimé.

C'est Thor Ragnarock en version +++ côté déjanté et humour et je dois bien dire que ça me convient. Dans le MCU, il y a tous les styles et pour Thor, c'est la dérision, la comédie qui fonctionnent très bien avec moi.

J'ai eu des fous rires, j'ai été touchée par le destin de Jane mais aussi de Gorr, fabuleux Christian Bale.
Thor c'est mon personnage préféré dans le MCU, son évolution vers l'autodérision pour masquer ses pertes, ses peines alors que lui demeure toujours, me touche beaucoup. On ne nous joue pas une partition dramatique malgré le destin de Gorr et de Jane, on ne cherche pas à faire larmoyer dans les chaumières, la comédie emporte tout et ça j'ai grandement apprécié.

J'adore le kitsch assumé du film, le style année 80, c'est parfois flashy, souvent délirant, avec un bon zest de rock et une once de Hell Fest. C'est un divertissement léger qui assume son côté pop culture à fond, ça plaît ou pas, moi j'étais vraiment à fond dedans.

Thor Love and Thunder, c'est aussi la société de consommation dans toute sa splendeur et son absurdité : la nouvelle Asgard transformée en parc à thèmes, la convention de divinités devenues obsolètes à cause des super héros et Zeus en guru désabusé et désopilant qui fait son show dans un décor bling bling.
J'attends avec impatience

, après la comédie rock de l'espace, ce serait le peplum rock, c'est prometteur.
En résumé, ce film c'est un délire rock abracadabrant et cocasse car il faut aussi savoir se lâcher et rire à fond de temps en temps dans un MCU souvent sérieux.

Believe it or not i spent an immense amount of time preparing the pants pattern later to be printed on the fabric. I am also glad Taika liked the pants so much he wore them even when he didn’t have to play Korg that day!

Thor : Love and Thunder débarque sur Disney+ dès le 8 septembre 2022 (France exclue).

J'ai enfin vu le film. Je suis déçu dans l'ensemble, un peu trop comédie à mon goût par rapport à Ragnarok. J'ai bien sur ri à plusieurs reprises, mais je m'attendais à plus d'action quand même. Et même le destin d'un certain personnage ne m'a procuré aucune émotion et c'est dommage. On verra où Thor atterrira maintenant mais surement pas seul (je n'en dis pas plus).

Mitigé pour ma part. Je n’ai pas passé un mauvais moment mais je vais vite oublier ce film. Je me demande pourquoi les scénaristes ont choisi de faire de Thor le benêt de service du MCU… on est aux antipodes du personnages des comics…
