To guide eye direction in our first VR short #DisneyCycles, the team developed a new technique, which they called the “Gomez Effect.” It mimics human memory by darkening and desaturating the view if the audience looks away from the action. It was inspired by the idea that when looking back on a personal memory, a person might not remember what happened behind them or in spaces they weren’t focused on.
